Sharing Music with the Community
I believe that music has the power to connect people and bring joy to their lives. I recently had the opportunity to organize and host a performance at a Senior Citizen Center, where I shared my love of music with the residents.

The Event
I took on the responsibility of not only organizing the event but also hosting it. This involved introducing each performer, their pieces, and the meaning behind the music. I memorized all the introductions and even translated between Chinese and English to ensure that all audience members, including those with different language backgrounds, could fully appreciate the performances.

The program featured a variety of musical offerings from several students in my music studio: piano pieces, vocal performances, and even a dance segment where I performed while another student sang. This diversity aimed to cater to a wide range of musical tastes within the audience.
-
There was even an unplanned moment during the performance when the music for one of the performers wouldn't play. As the host, I had to think quickly and gracefully to cover the brief pause, reassuring the young performer, who was understandably nervous in front of the audience. It was important to me to support her and ensure she still had a positive experience.

I also had a quick costume change during the event to prepare for my dance performance, adding another layer of coordination to the evening.

From designing the program menus to managing the logistics of the event and ultimately performing and hosting, it was a truly enriching experience.

The Impact
Seeing the jubilant response from the residents was incredibly rewarding. Their smiles, applause, and expressions of appreciation made all the hard work worthwhile. It was a truly heartwarming experience to share my music and see the positive impact it had on their day.
